Abstract

Worms are one of the infections that occur in children, and cause the risk of worsening health with causative factors associated with WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene). This study aims to determine the effect of the habit of not using footwear and washing hands on the prevalence of worms in elementary school-age children in the Doom Islands, Sorong, West Papua. The research design used was a quasi-experimental pretest-posstest comparison group design, namely the entire case sample and control carried out fecal examination as a whole (pretest), then observation samples for 2 months and given health education treatment in the case group, and then re-stool examination (posttest). Sampling was carried out by the total sampling method with a total sample of 68 people. The results of the study found that there was an influence of the habit of not using footwear (p = 0.000) and the habit of not washing hands (p = 0.000) on the prevalence of worms in school-age children. The habit of not using footwear and the habit of not washing hands affect the prevalence of worms, so it is recommended to school principals to provide education related to PHBS to students.

Abstract

Hasil observasi dari peneliti jumlah tenaga kerja yang ada di perusahaan tersebut berjumlah 294 orang. Dalam melakukan proses produksinya berasal dari ikan cakalang yang diolah menjadi produk ikan kaleng menghasilkan dan tentunya pekerja di sana tidak terlepas dari bahaya kebisingan. Bahaya kebisingan di area PT. Citra Raja Ampat Canning Sorong antara lain berasal dari peralatan kerja dan proses produksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui determinan kejadian gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik di PT.Citra Raja Ampat Canning Sorong Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 09 September 2019 sampai dengan 18 Oktober 2019. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan probability sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 169 orang dengan menggunakan metode simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian uji chi-square ada hubungan kebisingan dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik PT. Citra Canning Sorong p value = 0,003, ada hubungan pengetahuan dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik PT.Citra Canning Sorong p value = 0,030 dan ada hubungan penggunaan APD dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik PT. Citra Canning Sorong p value = 0,006. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan kebisingan, pengetahuan dan penggunaan APD dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik PT. Citra Canning Sorong. Saran hendaknya pihak perusahaan menyediakan alat pelindung diri khususnya bagi bekerja di unit produksi, dan sebaiknya tenaga kerja harus memakai alat pelindung telinga pada saat berada di lingkungan kerja yang kebisingannya melebihi nilai ambang batas yaitu 85 dB, sehingga tenaga kerja mampu meminimalisir risiko gangguan pendengaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk pengembangan media e-flashcard  pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Model pengembangan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada model ADDIE yang terdiri atas 5 tahap, yaitu analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 190 Palembang. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari angket validitas, angket respon siswa, angket respon guru serta tes hasil belajar IPA. Kriteria validitas didapatkan dari validator yang menilai dari tampilan media, penyajian materi dan penggunaan bahasa. Untuk kriteria kepraktisan didapatkan dari angket respon siswa dan angket respon guru. Sedangkan, kriteria keefektifan didapat dari tes hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan angket validasi dari tim ahli diperoleh skor presentase 92,5% dengan kategori sangat valid. Angket kepraktisan  keseluruhan dari angket siswa dan guru diperoleh skor presentase 87,8% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil keefektifan keseluruhan siswa memperoleh skor persentase sebesar 85,4%. Dengan demikian, hasil yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti bahwa media pembelajaran e-flashcard yang telah dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

Posyandu exists today because it has been proven to be a form of community-based health effort, managed and organized for the community, in order to provide convenience to the community in obtaining good basic health services in accelerating the reduction of maternal and infant mortality. The purpose of this study was to influence knowledge and attitudes towards the activity of posyandu kader in the working area of the Puskesmas Sorong Timur. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. This study involved 49 respondents. Sampling using total sampling technique. The test used is Chi-square with a confidence level (α) 0.05. Statistical test results obtained that there was an influence between knowledge on the activity of posyandu cadres obtained p-value = 0.000, < α = 0.05. and there is an influence between the attitude and the activity of posyandu cadres, the p-value = 0.000, < α = 0.05. In conclusion, there is an influence of knowledge and attitudes on the activity of Kader posyandu.

Abstract

Anemia is a medical condition in which the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin is less than normal. Normal hemoglobin levels are generally different in men and women. For men anemia is usually defined as a hemoglobin level  of  less  than  13.5  grams/100  ml. Anemia is a common blood disorder that occurs when the level of red blood cells (erythrocytes) in the body becomes too low. This can cause health problems, because red blood cells contain hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to body tissues. Anemia can cause various complications including fatigue and stress on the body's organs. Anemia occurs due to lack of iron and folic acid in the body. Women who suffer from anemia will have an impact on pregnancy and have the potential to give birth to babies with low birth weight. Besides that, Anemia can result in the death of both mother and baby during childbirth. This community service aims to provide knowledge about the importance of consuming a variety of foods that contain iron. The implementation procedure is carried out by counseling youth about the importance of nutrition in preventing anemia, so that the problem of anemia in Indonesia can be resolved. The solution to the problem is to teach teenagers about the importance of knowing balanced nutrition and the importance of consuming iron, so it is hoped that adolescents do not experience anemia. The expected achievement target is that teenagers understand and know how to prevent the nutritional problem of anemia.

Abstract

Food Additives (FA) are ingredients/mixtures which are not naturally part of food raw materials, but are added to food with the aim of influencing the nature or shape of the food. Food additives are usually widely used by food industry companies as ingredients that can produce food structures that attract the attention of consumers and obtain large profits with the smallest capital. Lack of public knowledge about the dangers and how to identify Food Additives (FA) is one of the factors that many people continue to consume without thinking about the impacts that occur. The long-term impact of consuming Food Additives (FA) is the emergence of various diseases such as cancer, tumors, kidney disease, sore throat and others. This is especially true for elementary school children who really like to consume sweet, colorful, tasteful and eye-catching foods that are sold freely around their school environment. The aim of this community service is to become a means to share information on chemical food additives and simple ways to detect these food additives. From the results of the socialization, elementary school children were taught how to identify foods that contain borax in a very simple and very easy way to do so that it can be the first step in protecting themselves from consuming foods that contain dangerous food additives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan hasil dari pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat di Kelurahan Dum Timur RT 003, 004, 005 RW II Kota Sorong, Papua Barat Daya. Tujuan dari Pelaksanaan penyuluhan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pencegahan tentang penyakit hipertensi kepada masyarakat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 80 Masyarakat di Kelurahan Dum Timur, RT 003, 004, 005 RW II. Lokasi pelaksanaan pengabdian di Gedung Serba Guna. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa masyarakat antusias hal tersebut dapat di lihat saat sesi tanya jawab dan diskusi.
