Abstract

The respiratory system plays a vital role in the body. Under certain conditions, it can be disrupted, leading to a buildup of secretions. This buildup of secretions leads to ineffective airway clearance, which can lead to airway obstruction, decreased oxygen saturation, atelectasis, and secondary infections. Proper treatment of ineffective airway clearance is crucial, including nebulizer inhalation therapy. Nebulizer inhalation therapy can dilate the bronchi, thin secretions, and moisturize the airways, facilitating coughing and expelling mucus from the airways, thus supporting physiological and mechanical airway clearance. This study aims to identify the impact of nebulizer inhalation therapy on respiratory rate and oxygen saturation levels in respondents experiencing ineffective airway clearance before and after nebulizer inhalation therapy. The design uses a descriptive method with a one group pretest-posttest design approach conducted on 3 respondents with ineffective airway clearance nursing problems with the application of nebulizer inhalation therapy for 3 days with a frequency of therapy administration 3-4 times a day, and a duration of 15-20 minutes, the results obtained from the three
