Abstract

Dark circles under the eyes are a common aesthetic concern that can affect facial appearance and are often concealed through makeup techniques. One widely used method is applying an jingga color corrector, which, based on color theory, neutralizes bluish or purplish discoloration beneath the eyes. This study aimed to determine the effect of using an jingga color corrector on the correction of under-eye dark circles. An experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design was employed. The sample consisted of 10 female participants with vascular dark circles, divided into an experimental group using an jingga color corrector and a control group without one. Data were collected through assessments by three expert judges based on five indicators: dark-circle intensity after correction, color suitability with skin tone, effectiveness in concealing bluish or purplish discoloration, under-eye brightness, and overall makeup finish. The experimental group achieved a higher mean score (63.60) than the control group (51.80). The Independent Samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.007 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect. Thus, the use of an jingga color corrector was more effective in concealing dark circles, producing a brighter under-eye area, more even skin tone, and a more natural makeup finish.
