Abstract

This study aimed to analyze: (1) the effect of self-efficacy on employee performance; (2) the effect of learning organization on employee performance; (3) the effect of religiosity on employee performance; (4) the moderating role of religiosity in the relationship between self-efficacy and employee performance; and (5) the moderating role of religiosity in the relationship between learning organization and employee performance. This research was conducted at the Malang City Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) from June to August 2026. The sample consisted of 54 civil servants. Primary data on self-efficacy, learning organization, religiosity, and employee performance were collected through a Google Form distributed via the BAPPEDA Malang City WhatsApp group. The collected data were analyzed using moderated multiple linear regression. Classical assumption tests were conducted before hypothesis testing, and the results indicated that all assumptions were fulfilled. The results showed that: (1) self-efficacy had a significant positive effect on employee performance; (2) learning organization had a significant positive effect on employee performance; (3) religiosity had a significant positive effect on employee performance; (4) religiosity strengthened the relationship between self-efficacy and employee performance; and (5) religiosity strengthened the relationship between learning organization and employee performance. Based on these findings, BAPPEDA Malang City is recommended to strengthen self-efficacy, develop a learning organization culture, and enhance religiosity values to support improved employee performance.
