Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of digital media and educational technologies, including AI chatbots, Moodle-based learning management systems, and gamification platforms such as Kahoot, has transformed modern Arabic language instruction into a more interactive and contextualized learning process. This transformation has become increasingly important in the post-pandemic era, in which adaptive blended learning is required to address the needs of digitally oriented learners. This study examines the alignment between digital technology selection and the development of four Arabic language skills: listening (mahārah istimāʿ), speaking (mahārah kalām), reading (mahārah qirāʾah), and writing (mahārah kitābah). It also identifies the limitations of conventional instructional methods for Generation Z learners and explores strategies for optimizing digital technology through a proposed Maharah–Digital Mapping framework. The study employed a qualitative descriptive design based on library research and qualitative content analysis. Relevant literature on TPACK, digital learning technologies, Arabic language pedagogy, multimedia learning, and technology integration was analyzed to formulate practical recommendations for digital lesson planning. The findings indicate that AI chatbots can support speaking and writing practice, learning management systems can facilitate structured and interactive reading activities, and gamification can enhance learner motivation and engagement, particularly in listening-oriented activities. The study proposes an integrated learning sequence that moves from receptive skills, namely listening and reading, to productive skills, namely speaking and writing. It concludes that digital transformation should be integrated systematically into Arabic language curricula rather than implemented as a collection of isolated technological tools. Continuous teacher training, context-sensitive technology selection, and sustainable curriculum integration are necessary to promote effective, engaging, and globally relevant Arabic language learning.
