Abstract

This study examined a conflict between Jababeka Industrial Estate (KIJ) and peopleliving around it in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province. The present studyused a stakeholder analysis approach with a qualitative descriptive method. Thepresent study aimed to examine the causes of the conflict, existing problems, and thestrategy for conflict resolution in the perspective of communication. In-depthinterviews were conducted with some stakeholders such as industrial estatemanagement, society, village official, religious leaders, local government, regionalhouse of representatives, and the non-governmental organization (NGO) to obtain theresults. The results suggest varied problems such as poor communication, differentopinions, different interests, varied social systems, polluted environment, limitedsources of income, and so on as the impacts of industrial estate development seem tobe driving forces of the conflict. Generally, the conflict is between the management ofindustrial estate and people living around it. In addition, the conflict was identified asthe open and closed conflict which was varied from the weak until the strong level.

Abstract

Communication in an organization is a communication process that involves superiors, subordinates and other stakeholders in the organization. In an organization, communication is important in improving the quality of service, as is done by a beauty clinic in Bekasi, Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the role of organizational communication in improving service quality. This research uses a constructivist paradigm. Apart from that, this research design is descriptive qualitative in which this research aims to investigate the circumstances, conditions, existence of the research site, and others that have been mentioned and explained in the form of a report. The instruments of this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the present research show that the quality of beauty clinic services can be considered good because of the role of good organizational communication. In this case, communication actors work together to achieve good organizational goals.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran kesehatan mental di kalangan generasi muda, khususnya para pelajar setingkat SMA/SMK daMadrasah Aliyah di kota Bekasi dan sekitarnya. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara mengadakan seminar bagi 200 pelajar setingkat SMA dan memberi pemahaman mendasar kepada mereka akan pentingnya kesehatan mental, mengidentifikasi secara dini gejala adanya gangguan kesehatan mental, serta tindakan dan kepada siapa mereka dapat meminta bantuan untuk tindak pengobatan secara intensif. Setelah seminar, peserta diminta mengisi kuesioner untuk mengidentifikasi sejauh mana mereka telah memahami pentingnya kesehatan mental dan tindakan apa yang dapat mereka lakukan bila mereka, atau orang terdekat mengalami gejala gangguan kesehatan mental.
