Abstract

Lighting systems are one of the major contributors to electrical energy consumption in multi-story buildings, making an efficient control system essential to improve energy efficiency without reducing user comfort. This study aims to design and implement a lighting control system based on the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology using an ESP32 microcontroller and the Blynk application. The research method consisted of system design, hardware and software implementation, and performance evaluation based on brightness variation, output voltage measurement of a lighting dimmer module utilizing a Triode for Alternating Current (TRIAC), real-time monitoring capability, and system response time. Experimental results showed that increasing the brightness level from 20% to 100% increased the output voltage from 24 V AC to 181 V AC, resulting in a gradual change in light intensity from very dim to very bright. The system was also capable of displaying lighting status through a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and the Blynk application in real time, with an average response time of 0.75 s for brightness adjustment and 1.89 s for lamp ON/OFF operation. The results demonstrate that the proposed system is capable of providing responsive lighting control, supporting remote monitoring, and has the potential to improve energy efficiency in multi-story building facilities.
