Abstract

The limited availability of practical media in digital electronics learning reduces students' opportunities for hands-on experience, potentially hindering the development of their science process skills. This study aims to develop and evaluate an Arduino Uno-based smart door lock training kit using voice recognition and a keypad as a practical learning medium to support students' science process skills. This Research and Development (R and D) study employed a modified 4D model limited to the Define, Design, and Develop stages. The study involved expert validators and 10 fifth-semester students of the Physics Education Study Program. Data were collected through expert validation, student response questionnaires, and observations of science process skills and analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis and predetermined criteria. The validation results showed that the training kit and guidebook were highly feasible. Student responses and observations of science process skills were categorized as very good. These findings indicate that the training kit is feasible as a practical learning medium and can support students' science process skills and active engagement in digital electronics experiments. The practical implication is that the training kit can serve as an alternative hands-on medium for integrating Arduino-based technology into digital electronics instruction, particularly in physics teacher education programs.
