Abstract

Background: According to the 2023 Health Profile of the Republic of Indonesia, since dengue cases were first detected in the country the number of cases has shown an annual trend of change. Nationally, there were 114,720 dengue cases with 894 deaths in 2023, compared with 143,266 cases with 1,237 deaths in 2022. Objective: To identify and analyze the spatial patterns of dengue fever cases in Kediri City for the period 2019–2023. Methods: This ecological study employed an observational design and used secondary data from 46 urban villages (kelurahan) as the units of analysis. Spatial analyses were performed using spatial autocorrelation tests, specifically Global Moran’s I and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA). Results: The five-year aggregated analysis demonstrated a statistically significant positive spatial autocorrelation in the distribution of dengue cases (Moran’s I = 0.3256; p = 0.001). Conclusion: A significant positive spatial autocorrelation was observed for dengue cases in Kediri City during 2019–2023, indicating that areas with high incidence tended to be located adjacent to other high-incidence areas, forming spatial clusters.
