Abstract

Female nurses bear responsibilities both as healthcare professionals and as family members. Supervisor support is essential for nurses to perform their duties effectively and manage various job demands. This study aimed to examine the relationship between supervisor support, the dual roles experienced by female nurses, and their performance at Private Hospital X in Surakarta. A cross-sectional design and a quantitative methodology were used. A sample of thirty-two married female nurses was chosen for the study using a purposive sampling technique. To ascertain the associations between variables, data were gathered by questionnaires and examined using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The findings showed that while performance levels were evenly dispersed (50%), most nurses maintained dual jobs (84.4%) and got supervisor help (75%). The study found a positive and significant relationship between supervisor support and female nurse performance (Spearman correlation coefficient: 0.425; Sig.: 0.015 < 0.05), with a moderate strength of association. Conversely, no significant relationship was found between dual roles and female nurse performance (Spearman correlation coefficient: 0.111; Sig.: 0.545 > 0.05), with a very weak strength of association. In conclusion, there is a positive and significant relationship between supervisor support and female nurse performance, whereas dual roles do not significantly affect performance. It is recommended that the hospital enhance supervision and communication to maintain nurse performance.
