ABSTRACT Honorary employees tend to face unstable working conditions and high workloads, making them vulnerable to psychological stress. This study aims to empirically examine the effect of job insecurity and workload on work stress among honorary employees of the Environmental Agency (DLH). This study used a non-probability sampling method using a purposive sampling technique, the sample was selected based on characteristics. The number of samples used was 101 respondents. This study used a questionnaire in the form of a Google Form containing the subject's identity, work stress scale, job insecurity scale, and workload scale. The measuring instrument used in this study was the work stress scale adapted from Shukla & Srivastava (2016) which refers to four dimensions of work stress. The job insecurity scale was adapted from De Witte (2000) based on two dimensions of job insecurity, and the workload scale was adapted from research by Rahmi (2025) which refers to three aspects of workload according to Tarwaka (2014). The data analysis technique used was multiple regression. The results of the hypothesis test yielded an F-value of 178.792 with a significance level of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant effect of job insecurity and workload on job stress among honorary employees of the Environmental Agency. The first hypothesis (H1) states that job insecurity and workload have a significant effect on job stress. The second hypothesis (H2) states that job insecurity has a significant effect on job stress. The third hypothesis (H3) states that workload has a significant effect on job stress.
