Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic education methods in shaping students' akhlak at SD PancaBudi Medan. Moral education is the core of the prophetic mission of Prophet Muhammad SAW, and its pedagogicalmethods have distinctive characteristics that differentiate them from conventional educational methods. This research used adescriptive qualitative approach with a case-study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, Islamic Religious Educationteachers, homeroom teachers, and students, as well as documentation of learning and religious activities. The findingsshow that the implementation of Islamic education methods at SD Panca Budi Medan includes five main methods: (1) exemplary conduct (uswah hasanah), (2) habituation, (3)storytelling and advice (mau'izhah hasanah), (4) educative punishment (uqubah tarbawiyah), and (5) programmed activities such as the Akhlak Camp. Exemplary conduct servesas the main foundation because all teachers and staff become models for students in daily behavior. Habituation isimplemented through routine activities such as Dhuha prayer, congregational Zuhr prayer, Qur'anic recitation, and the 5Sculture (smile, greet, give salam, politeness, and courtesy). Supporting factors include the foundation's commitmentreflected in the vision of moral transformation accompanied by a strong intention to practice Islam comprehensively, parentalsupport, and adequate facilities. Inhibiting factors include differences in students' religious understanding and limitedeffective learning time. This study recommends strengthening continuous akhlak evaluation and increasing parental involvement in moral development programs at home.
