Abstract

Basic immunization is an important effort to prevent infectious diseases in infants that can cause illness and death. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and husband support with the provision of basic immunization in infants in the working area of UPT Puskesmas Kurun. This research used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 60 mothers who had infants aged 0–12 months using a total sampling technique. The research instruments included a knowledge questionnaire, a husband support questionnaire, and an immunization status checklist from the maternal and child health (MCH) book. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most mothers had good knowledge (53.3%) and good husband support (58.3%). There was a relationship between maternal knowledge and basic immunization status (p = 0.003) as well as between husband support and basic immunization status (p = 0.001). Mothers with good knowledge and good husband support had a higher proportion of complete immunization. This study concludes that maternal knowledge and husband support are significantly associated with the completeness of basic immunization in infants. Health education and family involvement in immunization programs need to be strengthened.
