Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of qardh financing in empowering community economic activities at the Micro Waqf Bank of As’ad Islamic Boarding School in Jambi City. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the management and customers of the Micro Waqf Bank. The data analysis technique applied the Miles and Huberman model including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The results indicate that the implementation of qardh financing at the Micro Waqf Bank is carried out through group-based financing without collateral accompanied by mentoring activities. The financing is utilized by customers to develop micro businesses such as small trading, culinary businesses, and service activities. The impact of this financing can be seen in the improvement of business capacity, increased income, and stronger economic independence among community members around the Islamic boarding school.However, several challenges remain such as limited financing funds, insufficient managerial skills among some customers, and limited mentoring activities. Therefore, continuous business training and assistance are needed to strengthen the empowerment impact of the program.
