Abstract

Regional economic development requires the identification of leading economic sectors that are capable of promoting sustainable economic growth. This study aims to identify the leading economic sectors in Bone Regency based on the Location Quotient (LQ) analysis. The data used are secondary data of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant 2010 prices for Bone Regency and South Sulawesi Province by industrial sector for the period 2020–2024. The results of the Location Quotient (LQ) analysis indicate that there are three economic sectors classified as basic (leading) sectors in Bone Regency, namely the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector with an LQ value of 2.469, the electricity and gas supply sector with an LQ value of 1.345, and the public administration, defense, and compulsory social security sector with an LQ value of 1.089. These three sectors contribute dominantly to the structure of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Bone Regency and serve as the main drivers of the regional economy.
