Abstract

A growth mindset is the belief that an individual's abilities can develop through effort, proper learning strategies, and continuous learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the role of a growth mindset as a foundation for elementary school students' academic resilience through a literature review approach. Research data was obtained from various scientific articles, books, and academic documents relevant to the research topic. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques through the process of identifying, selecting, classifying, analyzing, and synthesizing results from previous studies. The study results show that a growth mindset contributes to the development of academic resilience by boosting intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, self-regulation, and grit. These four aspects help students handle academic challenges, manage failure, maintain learning motivation, and develop adaptive learning strategies. In addition, teachers play an important role in fostering a growth mindset through process-oriented feedback, reflective learning, creating psychologically safe learning environments, and implementing differentiated instruction. This article offers a conceptual synthesis explaining the mechanism of building academic resilience through a growth mindset, which can serve as a basis for developing learning that focuses on strengthening the learning character of elementary school students.
