Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes in Pancasila Education on the topic of the meanings of the Pancasila principles in society among fourth-grade students of Class IV A at SD Negeri 007 Sungai Pinang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Based on preliminary observations, only a small number of students achieved the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), indicating the need for an innovative learning model to improve students’ learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 32 fourth-grade students. The research instruments included teacher and student activity observation sheets and learning achievement tests. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis based on mean scores and learning mastery percentages. The results showed an improvement in learning outcomes. The average score increased from 70.31 in the pre-cycle, with 40.63% mastery, to 79.06 with 65.63% mastery in Cycle I, and 86.56 with 93.75% mastery in Cycle II. PBL also increased student participation and engagement. Therefore, PBL improved students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education.
