Abstract

This study aimed to examine the management of Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) learning through percussion media to enhance elementary students’ learning interest in Makassar City. Using a descriptive qualitative case study design, the study involved teachers, principals, and students as participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically using source and technique triangulation. The findings show that effective planning incorporates clear learning objectives, percussion activities, flexible lesson plans, and adequate time allocation. Implementation through cooperative and project-based learning, hands-on percussion practice, and creative expression increased students’ participation, enthusiasm, and motivation. Evaluation covered both learning processes and products through performance observation, portfolios, and affective assessment. Teacher commitment, principal and parental support, and local resources facilitated learning, while limited equipment, instructional time, and teacher competence were key challenges. The study implies that systematic and participatory percussion-based SBdP learning can strengthen students’ learning interest and engagement.
