Abstract

This research aims to develop a digital-based Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) instrument for Indonesian Language subjects using the Sikoper Antik method (Stimulation, Ice Breaking, Collaborative Content, Games, and Presentation) that meets the criteria of validity, reliability, and feasibility for elementary school students. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the Borg and Gall model, consisting of ten development stages. The subjects included educational evaluation experts, Indonesian language experts, digital experts, elementary school teachers, and fifth-grade students. Instrument validation involved six experts, readability testing involved 15 teachers, field trials involved 32 students, and field implementation testing involved 127 fifth-grade students. Data were analyzed using the Rasch Model through Winsteps software to assess validity, reliability, item fit, unidimensionality, Differential Item Functioning (DIF), Wright Map, and separation index. The results showed very good content validity, with an average Aiken's V of 0.81 and panelist reliability of 0.81. The field implementation test met psychometric requirements, with Raw Variance Explained by Measures of 52.4%, Person Reliability of 0.90, Item Reliability of 0.97, and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.90 for dichotomous items. Most items fit the Rasch model, resulting in a final instrument of 70 items, consisting of 66 multiple-choice and 4 essay questions. The findings indicate that the digital-based HOTS Indonesian Language instrument using the Sikoper Antik method has good psychometric quality and is suitable as an alternative assessment for measuring elementary school students' higher-order thinking skills.
