This study was motivated by the relatively simple quality control system implemented at UD. Alwin Desa Hilina’a, where most production processes are carried out using traditional methods, resulting in defective products such as cracked and broken bricks, inconsistent shapes, and uneven levels of firing. This study aims to analyze the brick quality control system, identify the factors causing defective products, and analyze quality control strategies for improving productivity at UD. Alwin Desa Hilina’a. This study employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation involving the business owner, five employees, and two consumers as informants. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that quality control has been implemented throughout the production process, including raw material selection, mixing, molding, drying, firing, sorting, and storage. However, its implementation remains simple and has not been supported by documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The main factors causing defective products include variations in raw material quality, inconsistent mixing processes, traditional firing methods, weather conditions, and workers’ skills. Quality control contributes to productivity improvement by reducing defective products, minimizing waste of raw materials and fuel, reducing production time lost to defective products, and increasing the number of bricks that meet quality standards and are suitable for sale. Therefore, UD. Alwin needs to strengthen quality control through process standardization, SOP implementation, systematic supervision, periodic evaluation, and improvement of workers’ skills.
