Abstract

Generation Z has emerged as the largest segment of today’s workforce, prompting organizations to recognize the factors that encourage employees to perform discretionary behaviors beyond their prescribed job responsibilities. This study aimed to investigate the effects of job position and work–life balance on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among Generation Z employees at Hoki Pancing Malang. A saturation sampling technique involving 35 employees and a quantitative approach were applied in this study. Data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire comprising five statements for the variables of job position, organizational citizenship behavior, and work-life balance. Subsequently, the data were analyzed through tests for validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, multiple linear regression, partial and simultaneous tests, and the coefficient of determination. The findings demonstrated that all measurement items met the required validity and reliability standards. In addition, the regression model satisfied the assumptions of normality, showed no evidence of multicollinearity, and was free from heteroscedasticity. Both job position and work–life balance exerted positive and statistically significant effects on organizational citizenship behavior. Together, these variables accounted for 71.6% of the variation in OCB. These results confirm that job clarity and support for work-life balance are crucial in enhancing the voluntary contributions of Generation Z employees
