Community Service Activities through the Thematic Real Work Lecture Program in Sorue Jaya Village was conducted as an effort to enhance community environmental awareness through the socialization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and mangrove planting activities. This activity aimed to improve community understanding of the concept of sustainable development, particularly the relationship between the SDGs and the conservation of coastal ecosystems, while encouraging active community participation in protecting and restoring mangrove ecosystems. Environmental education for local communities is an important strategy because increased knowledge of mangrove functions can encourage a shift from simple environmental awareness toward more active and community-based conservation actions (Gunawan et al., 2025). The activity employed an educational and participatory approach consisting of several stages, including preparation, socialization, delivery of materials on the SDGs and the ecological functions of mangroves, discussions with community members, and direct mangrove planting activities. A participatory approach to mangrove management enables local communities to become directly involved in ecosystem protection and restoration while incorporating local knowledge into conservation efforts (FAO, 2024). The activity is expected to increase the knowledge and awareness of the people of Sorue Jaya Village regarding the importance and sustainability of mangrove ecosystems. Furthermore, community participation in mangrove planting is expected to serve as an initial step toward building collective participation and shared responsibility for sustainable coastal environmental management, emphasizing the importance of involving local communities in mangrove protection and restoration efforts
