Abstract

This study aims to explore how parents play a role in helping adolescents develop emotional and spiritual intelligence. Adolescence is a crucial stage in the formation of identity, where the ability to manage emotions and understand spiritual values is essential. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving ten families in Karangligar Village who have teenage children. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that parents play a significant role in guiding adolescents through emotional challenges by applying open communication, emotional support, and positive role modeling. Meanwhile, spiritual intelligence is nurtured through regular religious practices, reflective discussions, and everyday moral teaching. The authoritative parenting style which balances warmth and firmness proves to be the most supportive approach in this process. This study is expected to provide insights for developing a more holistic model of family-based education that is aligned with the needs of adolescents today, and serve as a foundation for further research in broader social and cultural contexts.
