Abstract

Distributor selection is a critical strategic decision in supply chain management, particularly in the food industry, where distribution performance directly affects market coverage and operational efficiency. PT. XYZ in Aceh currently works with five distributors and plans to streamline its distribution system by selecting two main distributors. This study aims to determine the most suitable distributors using an integrated Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) approach. Six main criteria and 25 sub-criteria were evaluated, including operational performance, service quality, financial capability, logistics, strategic partnership, and market network. Data were collected through expert questionnaires and analyzed using Expert Choice software. The AHP results indicate that financial capability is the most important criterion, followed by operational performance and logistics. The TOPSIS analysis ranked PT. IAP is the best distributor with a preference value of 0.712, followed by PT. AML with 0.606. The study recommends PT. IAP and PT. AML is the primary distributor for PT. XYZ in Aceh, while other distributors may serve as supporting distributors or be terminated based on performance evaluation. This research contributes to the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods in distributor evaluation and supports more effective distribution management in the food supply chain sector.
