Abstract

PT. X is an authorized dealer and service provider of a reputable car product that provides sales and maintenance services. Total number of counters and stalls owned by PT. X cannot be considered optimal based on the number of cars that will be serviced. Long queues cause customers postponinge the maintenance service and reschedule them to another day. The purpose of this study is to analyze the queue characteristic of the simulation results in the service counters and to design improvement of the scenarios. The study was conducted to implement a simulation model on a service system in order to determine an optimal number of service stations which is appropriate with the waiting time that has been targeted by the company. The analysis of the scenario carried out refers to the target that needs to be achieved by the company that is 15 minutes waiting time to call by counter and 120 minutes waiting time to service. Based on the possibilities occurred, there are 11 proposed improvement scenarios that can be applied in the company. The results from the analysis stated that scenario No. 8 that add two counters and two maintanance stalls in the service station has average waiting time which closed with targeted time set by the company. Therefore, scenario No. 8 is chosen as a proposed improvement actiion. By implementing this scenario it is expected that average waiting time to call by a counter is only on 16,845 minutes on Thursday and the average waiting time to service is only 124,63 minutes on Wednesday.

Abstract

Distribution process at PT XYZ is identical to one of the variants of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) which there are several vehicles with different capacities and operation cost, called as Heterogeneous Fleet Vehicle Routing Problem (HFVRP). There are two kinds of vehicle that have been used, namely, vehicle As and vehicle Bs. Vehicle As has the higher operation cost than vehicle Bs. Currently, the company implements policies where vehicle Bs is used if all vehicle As have been used. This policy may lead the distribution cost is so expensive and its equal with the operation cost of vehicle As that also high. Routing aims to combine the use of available vehicles to generate minimal distribution costs in servicing the customers. This research uses mathematical model according to the description of the distribution system in the company. The model is verified and tested using the optimization software. Then the constraints of the verifiable mathematical model are used as the basis for developing Insertion Heuristic (IH) algorithm. Comparison of model solutions with developed algorithm solutions showed a difference of 11.6%. This implies that the algorithm generated solution is quite good as one of the heuristic approaches that result in optimal local solutions. Implementation of IH algorithm provides cost savings of 5.97% towards the actual distribution system in the company.

Abstract

Indonesia government has established sea toll program through Presidential Regulation No.17 in 2017 to support inter-island distribution. Port X in Aceh is one of the ports included in sea toll program. This paper discusses logistic performance m.easure, especially in sea transportation. A Logistic Performance Index (LPI) is proposed as a tool to identify challenges and opportunities in Port X performance. Key indicators which affect the value of logistics performance index will also be studied in this paper. There are several logistic performance measurements for port X based on literature study: quality, delivery cost, transportation cost, and information. Eight indicators affect Port X performance: quality of the commodity, the quantity of the commodity, on time delivery, ship call, sea transportation cost, storage cost, electronic availability, and electronic access. Port X average total index, based on Analytical Hierarchy Process, is 2,557. This value can be considered as quite reasonable. The study limits logistic performance for the arrival route of the container vessel leading to Port X. The final result shows that quality performance indicator (quality quantity of commodity index) has the highest index for all originating port. The second highest index is electronic information availability index. Through this finding, Port X must improve their service and information because it plays a vital role in their performance

Abstract

The success indicators of disaster mitigation can be seen from the disaster logistics system. Effective and efficient distribution network can make a good disaster logistics system. The problem that related to the design of this network is the vehicle routing problem. The objective is determined optimal route of relief distribution from warehouse to victims with minimum time duration. The problem is solved by branch and bound, insertion heuristic, and local search algorithms. The results obtained by branch and bound and local search algorithm are optimal global. Time duration of vehicle using these algoritm is 1.0562 hours. However, computation time using branch and bound algorithm is very long until 22 hours while local search algorithm only takes 60 seconds. The insertion heuristic algorithm also produces a good solution. Time duration of vehicle using this algoritm is 1,1030 hours. This solution is local optimal, but the computation time is very short, only 0.001 seconds.

Abstract

However, a closer examination reveals that many firms are battling inventory bottleneck as the covid pandemic spike in demand converges, which results in unpredictability and unstable sale fluctuation. This situation forced the hotel industry to find a balance between fulfilling demand and inventory turnover, which is impossible to predict accurately. Therefore, this research aims to combine system dynamics modelling with a hotel food supply chain system to solve the unpredictability of supply chain dynamics. In addition, The Causal Loop Diagram (CLD) and Stock and Flow Diagram (SFD) are used in this study to model the complexity of the case study supply chain, with an objective model to minimize the instability of inventory turnover and to stabilize the sales movement. This study proposes five policy scenario simulations where standard deviation (SD) and Standard of Error (SE) are used as the decision-making parameters. The simulation result suggests that the fifth scenario provides the highest SD (49.484) and the lowest SE (6.336). Therefore, controlling the customer response time variable to a maximum of 25 minutes and the menu unavailability variable to 15 occurrences per week will result in higher stability of the case study inventory turnover.

Abstract

The recent Covid-19 pandemics situation has brought a lot of discussion on how to manage a supply chain in uncertainty since the dynamic of pandemics risk has altered the way a supply chain is organized. This research aims to identify, asses and manage the possible risks on supply chain that may occur in relation to production process of U-Hansa (USK Hand Sanitizer) following a high demand of hand sanitizer during the pandemics. This research performed risk breakdown structure to identify risks, evaluated the risks using risk matrix 5x5 (MIL-STD-882B) and create risk mapping using the big picture approach. This research revealed that there are 15 risks involved in U-Hansa production process that can potentially disrupt the whole supply chain process of U-Hansa. Factors such as raw material shortage during the Covid-19 lockdown, insufficient production capacity and the limitation of machinery and equipment to support the production contributes to the noticeable risk potential in the overall U-Hansa supply chain network. The overall findings of this research are expected to help the decision-making process that can be utilized in the post-Covid-19 pandemics setting.

Abstract

Supply Chain Risk Management is an industry collaboration work with partners in the supply chain system to implement a risk management process in dealing with the emergence of risks and uncertainties caused by logistics activities or other resources in the supply chain. Every industry deals with risk. This study aims to identify, classify, and mapping supply chain activities and their risks. At the initial stage, the identification of supply chain events is done by doing interviews and brainstorming. Then, these events are portrayed in the supply chain map. Then, the risk identification stage used a rating scale to determine the level of likelihood and consequence based on three SCOR elements. There are 40 risk events in this study which are 13 risk events in the source section, 19 risk events in the make section, and eight risk events in the delivery section. Finally, it is necessary to calculate the value of the Risk Priority Index (RPI). The RPI is the basis of the risk mapping stage. The risk map will show the urgency to treat each risk event.

Abstract

Aceh is a province in Indonesia that implements Islamic law in its territory and is regulated by Qanun decree. Aceh Qanun No. 8/2016 confirms the determination of the halal product guarantee system. However, the Qanun lacks presenting, regulating, and providing Halal Supply Chain Management (HSCM). The data used in this research was obtained and observed from several Hotels in Banda Aceh that have implemented Halal Certification accreditation. This Research aims to implement multiple linear regression as an approach to review the implementation of HSCM at hotel food service by looking at the interrelationship of the contributing factor in HSCM. There are seven relationships between variables that form hypotheses, namely halal management, quality and hygiene of halal food, halal warehousing, halal transportation, halal raw materials, halal production facilities, and halal suppliers. ANOVA testing (F-test) shows that all factors influence HSCM. However, Partial testing (T-test) shows that the most influential factors on HSCM are given by halal management and halal warehousing.

Abstract

Agro-industry is a sector that has quite diverse development potential, especially in the field of processing. One of them is processing fruit into fruit juice drinks. Nozy Juice is classified as an advanced MSME, but its competitive level is still lower than other agro-industry. This is because almost all of Nozy Juice's production activities are still done manually, giving rise to various risks that have an impact on decreasing the company's productivity level. To reduce this risk, a fuzzy-based House of Risk (HOR) approach is used which aims to identify the most critical risk agents. Then the risk mitigation design is carried out as an action plan. The essential risk of the 15 risk agents was a human error with an Aggregate Risk Potential (ARP) percentage of 24.275%. Furthermore, a risk mitigation design is carried out for 10 risk events. This is expected to minimize risks in the production process of packaged fruit juice drinks at Nozy Juice.
