Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of work motivation, workload, and work environment on employee performance at the Department of Cooperatives, Small Enterprises, Transmigration, Energy and Mineral Resources of Karanganyar Regency. This research was motivated by the condition of employee performance that was not yet optimal, as well as issues related to work motivation, workload, and work environment. This study employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to employees as respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that work motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.486 and a significance value of 0.000. Workload had a negative and significant effect on employee performance, with a regression coefficient of -0.257 and a significance value of 0.000. Meanwhile, the work environment had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.442 and a significance value of 0.000.  The adjusted R-square value of 0.661 indicates that work motivation, workload, and work environment were able to explain 66.1% of the variation in employee performance, while the remaining 33.9% was influenced by other factors outside the research model. Therefore, increasing work motivation and creating a supportive work environment should be prioritized, while workload should be managed proportionally to support the optimal improvement of employee performance.
