Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 170 Pekanbaru and the suboptimal use of interactive digital learning media in the learning process. This condition resulted in limited active student involvement and less optimal mathematics learning. This study aimed to determine the effect of Wordwall media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 170 Pekanbaru. This study employed a quantitative research approach with an experimental method using a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 23 fourth-grade students of class IV A selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of a learning outcomes test and an observation sheet. The test was administered before and after learning using Wordwall media. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality test, N-Gain test, and Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the mean pretest score of 6.61 increased to 11.39 in the posttest. The N-Gain test obtained a score of 0.590, which was categorized as moderate. Furthermore, the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in students’ mathematics learning outcomes before and after the use of Wordwall media. Thus, Wordwall media had an effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students and can be used as an alternative interactive digital learning medium in elementary mathematics learning.
