Abstract

This study examined the effect of tegeran wood (Cudrania javanensis) extract concentration on color absorption and color fastness of cotton fabric. A controlled quantitative experiment used five concentration levels (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%). Twenty-five cotton specimens were prepared; however, identical visual scores within each concentration produced five effective observation points for statistical analysis. Dyeing was conducted by three multi-dipping cycles at 28–30 °C and neutral pH. Color absorption, washing fastness, and dry-rubbing fastness were rated on a 1–5 visual scale. Simple linear regression showed significant positive effects on color absorption (r=0.971; R²=0.942; p=0.006) and washing fastness (r=0.945; R²=0.893; p=0.015). Dry-rubbing scores increased perfectly with concentration in this limited dataset (R²=1.000), requiring cautious interpretation. The 100% concentration produced the highest overall scores and an intense golden-yellow appearance.

Abstract

This study compares modified kebaya outcomes produced using the So-En pattern method developed by Multi Tamara Boutique and the So-En pattern by Soekarno on one hourglass-body model. A quantitative comparative experimental design was used. Two kebayas were produced under controlled conditions of model, design, measurements, material, sewing technique, and finishing, then assessed by two fashion lecturers using 13 indicators across four aspects. Descriptive analysis showed total scores of 93 (89.42%) for Kebaya A and 99 (95.19%) for Kebaya B. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded an Exact Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.500, exceeding 0.05. Thus, descriptive score differences were observed, particularly in placement accuracy and garment shape, but the difference was not statistically significant under the conditions of this study.
