Abstract

Province of Aceh has basic immunization coverage toddler lowest in Indonesia in 2015. even though, this province has Posyandu and Puskesmas ratio per population of the highest in the western region of Indonesia. This data their concerns regarding immunization coverage has not been handled well in Aceh Province. This papers aims to identify variables that affect the status of complete basic immunization of children aged 12-59 months in Aceh by using ordinal logistic regression analysis. Ordinal logistic regression model used is proportional odds models. Data are obtained from Susenas 2015 that was held in March 2015 by BPS-Statistic of Indonesia. Based on the results of processing data, known only 37.7% of children aged 12-59 months in the province of Aceh in 2015 which gets fully immunized, the remaining 50.6% receive primary immunization but is not complete, even about 11.7% have not received basic immunization at all. From the proportional odds model results showed that the number of children born to mothers (odds ratio = 0.88), maternal age at delivery (odds ratio = 1.03), the level of maternal education (odds ratio = 1.22), and the educational level of the household (odds ratio = 1,2) have a significant impact on the status of complete basic immunization of children. Future studies are expected to include the element of timeliness and add other variables and also with other models in ordinal logistic regression. Keywords:Immunization, Ordinal Logistic Regression, Proportional Odds, Susenas

Abstract

High school enrollment rate can reduce educational inequality. However, East Java Province which has a high school enrollment rate, education inequality is also high. Using data from the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) from 2014 to 2016 and publications from several institutes, this research aims to find out the determinants of districts/cities education inequality in East Java in 2014-2016. The inferential analysis uses panel data regression with the random effect model (REM). The results show that the significant variables increasing the education inequality are the percentage of poor population and percentage of married young women, while the significant variables decreasing the education inequality are Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP) growth, the percentage of household head educated minimum secondary level, and teacher-school ratio on the secondary level. There are no significant effects of government spending on education inequality.

Abstract

Socioeconomic aspects related to how households access to their basic needs. The ability of each household to vary affects how they respond to disasters. There have been many studies on how the effects of natural hazards on socio-economic aspects. Therefore, this research will use a different way by looking at the comparison between one indicator with another. How big is the ratio of households with good socioeconomic conditions with those who are not good at responding to natural hazard events? Descriptive analysis will describe how much the percentage of household preparedness in Central Java. While inferential analysis with binary logistic regression will explain socioeconomic variables that have a significant effect on household preparedness, and a comparison for each variable. This study finds the relationship between social-economic variables and household preparedness. Disaster preparedness from the poor households is different with those are not poor, as well as between those living in the urban or rural.

Abstract

Background: Pneumonia is a communicable disease that causes the largest under-five children death in the world. Meanwhile, Indonesia contributed 19.000 cases of under-five deaths due to pneumonia in 2018. Pneumonia can inhibit the growth and development in under-five children, cause decreased lung function or even lead to death. The pneumonia symptoms is less specific and almost the same as the flu or a common cough, makes this disease difficult to detect and difficult to treat optimally. This study was aimed to determine variables that affect the pneumonia in under-five children in Indonesia in 2018.Methods: This study used descriptive analysis and multilevel binary logistic regression. It used secondary data from the Riskesdas 2018, publication of Profil Kesehatan Indonesia 2018, and official website of Badan Pusat StatistikResult: The results indicated that in 2018, there were about 6.4 percent of under-five children who experienced pneumonia. The age of under-five children, gender, nutritional status, maternal education level, type of residence, house’s ventilation, and poverty rate per province significantly affected the status of pneumonia in under-five children in Indonesia. Conclusion : This study was expected to be able to increase public awareness about pneumonia in under-five children and can prevent under-five deaths due to pneumonia. Further research can use more up-to-date primary data and can also focus on provinces that have high rates of pneumonia in under-five children.

Abstract

Based on the preamble of the 1945 Constitution, the national goals of Indonesia are to promote the general welfare and to educate the nation's life. This can be seen through the quality of human development. Despite North Maluku Province having an economic growth rate consistently above the national average and a poverty rate consistently below the national average from 2015 to 2022, its human development quality remains below the national level, which is contradictory. This study aims to analyze the variables that influence the quality of human development in the regencies/cities of North Maluku Province from 2015 to 2022. The method used is panel data regression analysis. The results of the study show that internet access, electricity access, and access to proper sanitation positively impact the quality of human development, while the Open Unemployment Rate negatively impacts the quality of human development in the regencies/cities of North Maluku Province from 2015 to 2022. To improve the quality of human development, the government can implement appropriate policies targeting the factors that influence human development quality.

Abstract

The Micro and Small Industries (MSIs) sector, part of non-oil and gas processing industry, is a key driver of the Indonesia’s economy. However, in Eastern Indonesia (EI), the number of industries and workers in the MSIs sector does not match the level of output, unlike in Western Indonesia, where the industry is more stable and aligned. This difference is mainly due to variations in technological progress, known as Total Factor Productivity (TFP). This study analyzes TFP in the MSIs sector across provinces in EI from 2013 to 2022 using panel data regression. Results show that South Sulawesi has the highest TFP, while East Nusa Tenggara has the lowest. The study found that the Fixed Effect Model was the best model, with variables like guidance/training, wages, and infrastructure having a significantly positive impact on MSIs’s TFP.
