Abstract

The ballast system is crucial for maintaining the stability of ships, especially cargo ships that generally still use manual systems. The weaknesses of manual systems include low efficiency, long operational times, and the potential for technical errors (human error) that can increase the risk of accidents. This research aims to develop an automatic ballast system using Outseal PLC as the control center. The process begins by activating the system through the start button. Objects are placed on the prototype, and the system's response to tilt angles is measured using a gyroscope sensor. When a tilt angle is detected, the system automatically fills the tank with water to restore stability. The volume of water entering the tank is measured using a flowmeter sensor. Test results show that when the tilt reaches 10 degrees or -10 degrees, the system automatically fills the tank with water. This process continues until all tanks are optimally filled with a volume of 450 ml, after which the system empties all tanks. The research results indicate that the system can effectively manage stability through water filling in the tanks, and the designed program functions according to the desired specifications

Abstract

In the current digital era, Internet of Things (IoT) technology offers innovative solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy in various sectors, including the rice sales business. This journal discusses the design of IoT-based scales specifically designed to help with bookkeeping in rice sales businesses. The main objective of this research is to develop a weighing system that can automatically measure the weight of rice and integrate it with a digital bookkeeping system, thereby minimizing manual errors and increasing operational efficiency. The research methodology includes design of weighing hardware and software, implementation of weight sensors, and development of IoT applications that connect scales with bookkeeping systems. The system is designed to send real-time weight data to a cloud-based bookkeeping platform, enabling more accurate and faster monitoring and reporting. Test results show that this IoT-based scale can provide weight data with high accuracy and seamless integration with the bookkeeping system. Users report increased efficiency in the process of recording and managing rice sales data. In conclusion, IoT-based scales offer an effective solution for modernizing the bookkeeping process in rice sales businesses, supporting better decision making and improving the accuracy of financial reports.

Abstract

Electric motor protection in modern industry is increasingly important along with technological developments and the need to maintain operational reliability and prevent unwanted disturbances. This research develops an Arduino Mega-based three-phase induction motor protection system that uses PZEM-004T sensors to monitor current and voltage, and MAX6675 sensors to accurately measure motor temperature. The monitoring data is displayed in real-time on the ILI9341 TFT LCD screen, enabling early detection of abnormal conditions such as overheat, over current, and voltage imbalance. The system provides a quick response to protect motors from potential damage, ultimately preventing significant losses and ensuring operational continuity and energy efficiency in increasingly complex industrial environments
