Abstract

Data analysis skills are important for students in supporting academic assignments and research activities. However, the use of Microsoft Excel as a supporting tool for data analysis remains suboptimal. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ data analysis skills through training and mentoring in Smart Excel using the XRealStat Statistical Add-In. The activity was conducted through training, hands-on practice, and mentoring based on students’ needs in using XRealStat for research data analysis. The results showed that the training and mentoring provided practical experience and more structured guidance in processing, analyzing, and interpreting data. The activity also helped students optimize the use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and supported greater independence in conducting research. Thus, training and mentoring in Smart Excel using XRealStat provide practical benefits as a community service initiative to strengthen students’ data analysis skills.
