Abstract

Background: Low numeracy skills among elementary school students remain a major challenge in mathematics learning, particularly in data presentation topics that require students to read, interpret, and present information systematically. This program aimed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in developing interactive learning media based on Wayground (formerly Quizizz) and to improve the numeracy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Modongan. Methods: This program employed community education, training, consultation, and advocacy methods. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design involving 22 students. Numeracy skills were measured using a 25-item multiple-choice numeracy test developed according to established numeracy indicators. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using a paired sample t-test. Results: The mean numeracy score increased from 61.82 on the pretest to 84.68 on the posttest. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant improvement. The percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 9.09% to 90.91%, and the N-Gain score of 0.60 indicated a moderate level of effectiveness. Conclusion: This program successfully enhanced teachers’ competencies in developing Wayground-based interactive learning media and significantly improved students’ numeracy skills. The resulting learning media were relevant to the school’s needs and have strong potential for sustainable implementation across various learning topics.
