Abstract

Abstract

Learning about the human respiratory system at SD Negeri Galengdowo 1 faces obstacles due to the abstract nature of the material and the use of less interactive conventional media, resulting in more than 60% of students failing to reach the KKTP (75) with low conceptual understanding. This research aims to develop interactive learning media based on Canva on human respiratory system material that is valid, practical, and effective for fifth-grade students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 28 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Galengdowo 1. Data collection techniques used validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The results show that the media is highly feasible with an average validation of 87.5% obtained from material expert validation of 89% and media expert validation of 86%. Practicality testing shows highly practical results with an average percentage of 95.95% obtained from teacher responses of 97.1% and student responses of 94.8%. Effectiveness testing shows very effective results with student learning completeness increasing from 14.3% to 100%, and N-Gain test results show an average of 0.554 (medium category) indicating increased understanding of the material. This interactive learning media successfully improves student learning outcomes and can be an effective solution in teaching abstract science concepts in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research addresses the need for interactive learning media in elementary education, specifically for teaching the human digestive system. The study aims to develop, validate, and assess the effectiveness of interactive multimedia based on Articulate Storyline for Grade V elementary school students. Using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), this research was conducted at SDN Sambirejo 1 with 28 fifth-grade students. Data collection involved validation questionnaires for media and material experts, practitioner questionnaires, pretest, and posttest assessments. The validation results showed very high feasibility ratings from media experts (92%), material experts (95%), and peer reviewers (95%), with an overall validation score of 94.81%. The multimedia's effectiveness was demonstrated through significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with the percentage of students achieving mastery (≥70) increasing from 32.14% in the pretest to 89.29% in the posttest, representing a 57.15% improvement. The average student score increased by 30.54 points, from 57.86 to 88.39. These findings indicate that Articulate Storyline-based interactive multimedia is highly feasible and significantly effective in enhancing student understanding of the human digestive system, demonstrating the potential of interactive technology in elementary science education
