Abstract

Character education is a planned effort to build identity and strengthen students' character. It is an endeavor to help students understand the values of human behavior in relation to God, themselves, and others. The purpose of this study is to explore the values of character education derived from verses of the Qur'an and Hadiths, which can serve as a foundation for human development within the community. The study focuses on identifying Qur'anic verses and Hadiths that reinforce character building and interpreting their meanings as narrated by scholars of Hadith to serve as foundational data. The findings indicate that character education is essential because education not only aims to nurture intelligent students but also seeks to instill character and courtesy in daily life. If students possess strong character, the nation will benefit, as students are the future generation of the country. Therefore, they must build their character from an early age so that as future leaders, they are not only intelligent but also possess good moral character. For this reason, instilling character values in students must begin as early as possible, during a period when children absorb practical knowledge as preparation for their future.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilization of information technology-based instructional media in enhancing students’ interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Gondangrejo. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, using data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles & Huberman. The findings show that PAI teachers use various technology-based media, such as laptops, flash drives, speakers, LCD projectors, mobile phones, and the internet to deliver content interactively. Lesson preparation includes drafting lesson plans (RPP), checking teaching devices, and providing initial student motivation. The use of ICT media has proven effective in increasing student engagement, motivating learning, and facilitating conceptual understanding, whereas traditional textbook-based learning is less appealing to students. Challenges faced by teachers include limited facilities, technological skills, and varying student comprehension levels. Solutions implemented involve creating learning content, participating in technology training, and adapting media to student needs. These findings align with the theories of Munadi (2013), Arsyad (2017), and Tafonao (2018), which emphasize the importance of appropriate media use in enhancing learning interest and effectiveness.
