Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute disease characterized by clinical bleeding and potentially fatal shock, requiring laboratory assessment of hematological parameters. General Background: Platelet, hematocrit, and hemoglobin examinations support DHF diagnosis, particularly in assessing conditions associated with plasma leakage and bleeding. Specific Background: Thrombocytopenia is associated with bleeding, while increased hematocrit and hemoglobin indicate hemoconcentration and are relevant to the assessment of plasma leakage. Knowledge Gap: The relationship between hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte and platelet counts among DHF patients at the study setting required examination. Aims: This study aimed to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte and platelet counts in DHF patients. Results: Secondary data from 31 DHF patients at Siti Hajar Islamic Hospital Sidoarjo in March 2024 were analyzed using Spearman's test. The analysis produced p=0.146 for the relationship between hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte count and p=0.796 for the relationship between hemoglobin levels and platelet count. Both results indicated no significant relationship. Novelty: The study examined the two specified hematological relationships within the same group of DHF patients at the study site. Implications: The findings provide laboratory evidence regarding the absence of significant relationships between hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte or platelet counts in the examined DHF patients. Key Findings Highlights The analysis involved secondary data from 31 DHF patients. The first statistical test produced a value of p=0.146. The second statistical test produced a value of p=0.796.
