Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence on saving behavior, with self-control serving as a mediating variable among young workers aged 20–30 years in Tembalang District, Semarang City. This study employed a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique involving 100 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis with SPSS version 25. The results indicate that financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence have a positive and significant effect on both self-control and saving behavior. Self-control also has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior. However, self-control was not able to mediate the effects of financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence on saving behavior because the indirect effects were smaller than the direct effects. Therefore, the saving behavior of young workers is influenced more directly by the level of financial inclusion, the use of financial technology, and peer influence than through self-control.
