Abstract

Kata kunci : passive income, investasi saham Today there are various increasingly complex life demands that underlie people to start thinking about making various breakthroughs in obtaining income so that they can fulfill their daily needs. The consideration is that they still have income from the job they already have, and on the other hand they can expect to receive returns from other activities that can provide income as well, or better known as passive income.Passive income is income that will be earned even though a person has stopped doing his job, because this income will continue to grow and develop even though a person no longer has a business. If this passive income can be managed properly and consistently, it will be a source of income for the community in addition to the active income that you get from working every month.Against the backdrop of an initiative from a group of students residing in Plamongansari Village, Pedurungan District, Semarang City to learn more about passive income activities, in order to open up opportunities for them to help their family's economy, then the dedication team from Pandanaran University is like a tit for welcome. several lecturers carry out community service activities for students who live in this kelurahan. The reason why targeting students first is to conduct training on passive income, because there is a consideration that in the future these student groups are expected to be able to transmit knowledge about passive income to other residents. From the initial investigation that was carried out by the community service team from Pandanaran University, Semarang, information was obtained that training activities on passive income, especially stocks, were still minimally carried out by various parties involved, even though by looking at the economic standard of living most of the residents in the existing Plamongansari Village above average, they can become potential investors to carry out passive income activities, especially investing in stocks. It is hoped that this stock investment training will bring new horizons to residents in Plamongansari Village that there are activity options that can provide adequate returns that will increase income for residents, namely by investing in stocks. It is necessary to carry out intensive coaching, training and assistance regarding this stock investment so that the knowledge and abilities of the residents, especially the student group, are getting better and better. In the future, so that the goal of providing learning and increasing passive income for residents in Plamongansari Village can be achieved properly, it is necessary to collaborate with various parties to provide assistance, such as from IDX (Indonesian Stock Exchange) and educators from various trading platforms whose numbers are increasingly mushrooming lately.  Keywords: passive income, stock investment

Abstract

As a digitally savvy generation, Gen Z plays an increasingly significant role in Indonesia's capital markets, now comprising more than half of its investor base. This study applies a behavioral finance perspective to examine how financial knowledge and psychological traits influence investment outcomes. The objective of this study is to explore the impact of financial literacy, income, risk tolerance, and financial behavior on investment decisions among Generation Z in Semarang City. A quantitative approach  was used, with data collected  from 110 Gen  Z investors selected through purposive sampling. Respondents completed an online questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale, and the data were analyzed using SPSS. The analysis results show that financial literacy, income, risk tolerance, and financial behavior all have a positive and significant influence on investment decisions. This is supported by a significance value below 0.05 and a t-value above the critical value of 1.98260. Further analysis using the Sobel test evaluated the mediating role of financial behavior. The test produced a Z-score below the significance threshold of 1.96, indicating no significant mediation in  the tested  relationship. Thus,  although financial  behavior directly influences investment decisions, it does not mediate the influence of financial literacy, income, or risk tolerance. These findings highlight that financial literacy, income, and risk tolerance are the main factors shaping Generation Z's investment behavior, with financial behavior acting more as an outcome than an intermediary in this context.

Abstract

Every business entity is established to maximize profit and increase firm value. Firm value reflects a company’s financial performance and can be evaluated through various financial indicators. This study aims to examine the effect of asset efficiency, profitability, and profit margin on firm value, with earnings performance as a moderating variable. The research sample consists of paper industry sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2012–2024. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that asset efficiency has no significant effect on firm value. In contrast, profitability and profit margin have positive and significant effects on firm value. Earnings performance strengthens the relationship between asset efficiency and firm value as well as between profitability and firm value. However, earnings performance weakens the relationship between profit margin and firm value. These findings provide insights for companies and investors in improving financial performance and making investment decisions.

Abstract

The transportation and logistics sector experienced significant pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and entered a recovery process during the 2021-2025 period, although pressure on financial performance has continued. This study aims to analyze the effect of Net profit margin (NPM),Debt to assets ratio (DAR), and Quick ratio (QR) on financial distress, as well as to examine institutional ownership as a moderating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from the financial statements of transportation and logistics sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021-2025 period. Out of a population of 41 companies, 14 companies were selected as the sample through purposive sampling. Financial distress is measured using the modified Altman Z-Score model, with data analyzed through Multiple Linear Regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that NPM and QR have a significant positive effect on financial distress, suggesting that an increase in profitability and liquidity plays an important role in raising the Altman Z-Score value, while DAR has a significant negative effect, indicating that a higher leverage level leads to a greater decline in the Altman Z-Score. Institutional ownership is proven to strengthen the effect of NPM and QR, while weakening the effect of DAR on financial distress. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights for companies in mitigating the risk of financial distress through optimizing financial performance, as well as serve as a consideration for investors in making investment decisions.

Abstract

Every company aims to achieve optimal profit and maintain business sustainability in the long term. Earnings before tax is an important indicator of financial performance because it reflects a company’s ability to generate profit before tax expenses. This study aims to examine the effect of leverage, market ratio, and book value on earnings before tax, with profitability as a moderating variable. The research sample consists of technology companies in the electronics sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2018–2025. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that leverage, market ratio, and book value significantly affect earnings before tax. Profitability strengthens the effect of market ratio on earnings before tax, but does not moderate the effects of leverage and book value on earnings before tax. These findings provide useful information for companies in evaluating financial performance and may serve as a consideration for investors in making investment decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of income, financial literacy, and accessibility on the use of online loans, with risk attitude as an intervening variable among Generation Z in Grobogan Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 Generation Z respondents aged 17–28 years who have used online loan services. The respondents were selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS and path analysis to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results indicate that income, financial literacy, and accessibility have positive and significant effects on risk attitude. Furthermore, income, financial literacy, and accessibility also have positive and significant effects on the use of online loans. However, risk attitude is not proven to significantly mediate the effects of income, financial literacy, and accessibility on the use of online loans. These findings suggest that online loan usage among Generation Z in Grobogan Regency is more strongly influenced by the direct effects of income, financial literacy, and accessibility than by risk attitude as an intervening variable. The study provides insights into the factors influencing online loan usage among young consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Current Ratio (CR) on the Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR) as an indicator of financial distress, with firm size as a moderating variable. This quantitative study uses secondary data obtained from food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. Using purposive sampling, 16 companies were selected, resulting in a total of 80 observations. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to examine both the direct and moderating effects of the variables. The results show that NPM, DER, and CR have a positive and significant effect on ICR. Furthermore, firm size strengthens the effects of NPM, DER, and CR on ICR. These findings indicate that higher profitability, effective debt management, and stronger liquidity contribute to improving a company’s ability to meet its interest obligations. In addition, larger firms tend to have greater resources and financial stability, enabling them to manage financial risks more effectively. Thus, improving financial performance and maintaining an adequate firm size can enhance interest-paying capacity and reduce the potential risk of financial distress.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence on saving behavior, with self-control serving as a mediating variable among young workers aged 20–30 years in Tembalang District, Semarang City. This study employed a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique involving 100 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis with SPSS version 25. The results indicate that financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence have a positive and significant effect on both self-control and saving behavior. Self-control also has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior. However, self-control was not able to mediate the effects of financial inclusion, financial technology, and peer influence on saving behavior because the indirect effects were smaller than the direct effects. Therefore, the saving behavior of young workers is influenced more directly by the level of financial inclusion, the use of financial technology, and peer influence than through self-control.
