Abstract

This article draft examines the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve students’ understanding in Fiqh learning at Rumah Belajar Al Mahir. The study is designed as a descriptive qualitative field study. Data are planned to be collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Fiqh tutor and santri participating in the learning process. Data analysis follows data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The article focuses on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PBL, as well as changes in santri understanding after learning activities. Previous journal studies indicate that PBL can encourage active participation, contextual reasoning, discussion, problem solving, and deeper understanding in Islamic Religious Education and Fiqh learning. The empirical findings for Rumah Belajar Al Mahir must be completed from the researcher’s actual field data before submission.
