Abstract

Teachers play an important role in maintaining the quality of elementary education, making job satisfaction an important organizational concern. Compensation and work life balance are among the factors that may shape teachers’ perceptions of their work. This study aimed to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of compensation and work life balance on teachers’ job satisfaction at Yasporbi III Private Elementary School, South Jakarta. The study employed a quantitative approach with an associative design. The population and sample consisted of 37 teachers, selected using saturated sampling. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 26 through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that compensation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (t = 3.221; Sig. = 0.003), while work life balance also has a positive and significant effect (t = 4.399; Sig. = 0.000). Simultaneously, compensation and work life balance significantly affect job satisfaction (F = 35.762; Sig. = 0.000). The coefficient of determination is 0.678, indicating that 67.8% of the variation in job satisfaction is explained by the two independent variables. The findings imply that schools should strengthen fair compensation policies while supporting teachers’ work life balance.
