Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Augmented Reality (AR) learning media supported by Assemblr EDU on the mathematics learning outcomes of students at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat. This is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The study population consisted of seventh-grade students, and the sample comprised two classes: VII-A as the experimental class and VII-B as the control class. The sample was selected using probability sampling with a cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was an essay-type test. The mean score on the pre-test for the experimental class was 44.38 and for the control class was 42.50, while the mean score on the post-test for the experimental class was 82.78 and for the control class was 64.81. Based on the results of data analysis using the t-test at a 5% significance level, the calculated t-value was 4.769 and the critical t-value was 2.021. Since the calculated t-value is greater than the critical t-value – that is, 4.769 > 2.021 – H₀  is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that Augmented Reality using Assemblr EDU has an effect on junior high school students’ mathematics learning outcomes.
