Abstract

As time progresses, social values related to honesty have diminished, causing concern among many people. This research aims to strengthen students' integrity as a foundation for social engagement, implemented through practicing honesty during students' interactions within the school environment. The study is qualitative, using an ethnographic method, analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research subjects were fifth-grade students, totaling 16 students. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Based on the analysis, it was found that before the honesty practice was implemented, students were already accustomed to saying things that did not correspond to the actual situation. Then the teacher applied the practice of honesty in social interaction activities, so that students could experience a change in attitude by bravely speaking the truth even when making mistakes. Thus, it can be concluded that the practice of honesty activities can strengthen the character of integrity in Fifth Grade students as a foundation for the social dimension in the habituation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (7 KAIH).
