The Effect of Chicken Manure and Urea Application on Cocoa Seedling Growth in Red-Yellow Podzolic Soil. The development and expansion of cocoa plantations in West Kalimantan can be achieved by providing high-quality and healthy cocoa seedlings to ensure high-quality growth and yield. Seedling growth is strongly influenced by the growing medium, one of which is Red Yellow Podsolic (PMK) soil, which has low fertility requiring improvements in its physical and chemical properties through the application of organic fertilizers, such as chicken manure, and nitrogen (N). This study aims to determine the interaction effect and the best dose of chicken manure and urea fertilizer on cocoa seedling growth in PMK soil. This research was conducted in May-September 2025 in Southeast Pontianak District, using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely chicken manure and urea fertilizer. The chicken manure factor consisted of 3 treatment levels, namely a1 = 200 g/polybag, a2 = 300 g/polybag, and a3 = 400 g/polybag. The urea fertilizer factor consisted of 3 treatment levels, namely n1 = 3 g/polybag, n2 = 4 g/polybag, and n3 = 5 g/polybag. Each treatment was replicated 3 times, and each replication consisted of 3 plant samples. The observation variables consisted of plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root volume, and plant dry weight. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the interaction of the treatment of 300 g of chicken manure and 3 g of urea fertilizer produced many leaves of 32.78 leaves, which is the best dose for the growth of the number of leaves in cocoa seedlings in PMK soil.
