Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of groundwater used as a source of clean water in Pentadio Barat Village, Telaga Biru Subdistrict, Gorontalo Regency. Water samples from dug wells, bore wells, and the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) in three hamlets were tested for physical parameters (turbidity, temperature, total dissolved solids), chemical parameters (pH, nitrate, nitrite, iron), and microbiological parameters (Escherichia coli) using standard laboratory methods. The results showed that most samples met the national drinking water quality standards for turbidity, temperature, TDS, pH, nitrate, and nitrite, whereas several wells had high iron levels and tested positive for E. coli, particularly at locations close to septic tanks or waste disposal sites. The study concludes that environmental sanitation conditions and the distance between wells and sources of pollution strongly influence groundwater quality; therefore, improved management of domestic wastewater and solid waste, as well as regular monitoring of well water and the PDAM distribution network, are required.
