Abstract

General Background: Finished goods warehousing is critical to maintaining smooth product distribution, while operational waste can constrain process efficiency and sustainability. Specific Background: Conventional warehouse operations characterized by manual recording and product-position checking create problems related to loading errors, inventory accuracy, repeated activities, unnecessary movement, and transportation. Knowledge Gap: Existing warehouse processes require an integrated approach capable of identifying operational waste while simultaneously considering economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Aims: This study analyzes current finished goods warehouse operations using Sustainable Value Stream Mapping (SUS-VSM) and designs a future state based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), supported by Process Activity Mapping, waste identification, and root cause analysis. Results: Five waste categories were identified: defect, transportation, inventory, motion, and overprocessing. The current state recorded a lead time of 10,387.87 minutes and an average efficiency of 67.43%, whereas the proposed RFID-based state recorded 9,948.27 minutes, representing an approximately 2.74% reduction, with average efficiency reaching 73%. Novelty: The study integrates SUS-VSM with an RFID-based future-state warehouse design that considers economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Implications: The proposed configuration provides a structured basis for reducing warehouse waste, improving inventory management, and supporting more efficient and sustainable finished goods operations. Highlights: Five waste categories were detected: defect, transportation, inventory, motion, and overprocessing. Average process efficiency rises from 67.43% to 73% under the proposed state. Total processing duration falls from 10,387.87 to 9,948.27 minutes. Keywords : RFID, Sustainability, Sustainable Value Stream Mapping, Warehouse.
