Abstract

Bullying remains a significant problem among adolescentsbecause it can affect psychological well-being, social relationships, and learning processes. UNESCO data indicate that approximately 32% of children and adolescents worldwide have experienced bullying at school. According to the PISA 2022 report, around 25% of female students and 30% of male students in Indonesia experienced bullying several times within a month. In Aceh Province, approximately 46–47% of junior high school students have experienced bullying by their peers. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the relationship betweenfamily factors, peer influence, school environment, and social media use with bullying incidents among students at SMP Negeri 3 Meulaboh. This study employed a quantitative method with an observational analytic design using a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 292 ninth-grade students, and 169 respondents were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected usingquestionnaires and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that family factors (p-value = 0.397) and school environment factors (p-value = 0.110) were not significantly associated with bullying incidents. In contrast, peer influence and social media factors were significantly associated with bullying incidents (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that peer influence and social media playimportant roles in the occurrence of bullying among students at SMP Negeri 3 Meulaboh. In conclusion, peer influence and social media are associated with bullying incidents among students. Therefore, schools should strengthen bullying prevention programs by empowering peers as anti-bullying agents and improving students’ digital literacy to prevent bullying andcyberbullying
