Abstract

The national cosmetics industry is growing rapidly, requiring companies to manage raw material inventory efficiently. PT. Alwinda Pratama Jaya, a cosmetics manufacturer under SYB Group, faces raw material inventory control problems for Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), namely alcohol, glycerine, and glycolic acid, due to demand fluctuation and lead time uncertainty, which risks overstock and stockout conditions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method in determining the optimal order quantity. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative design. Primary and secondary data were collected through non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of 2024 production data, then analyzed using EOQ, safety stock, reorder point (ROP), and Total Inventory Cost (TIC) formulas. The results show economic order quantities of 4,005 kg of alcohol, 955 kg of glycerine, and 647 kg of glycolic acid, with order frequencies of 11, 10, and 9 times per year respectively. The implementation of EOQ reduced the annual total inventory cost from IDR 40,739,162 to IDR 37,899,451, an efficiency of IDR 2,839,711. The recommended safety stock values are 235 kg, 50 kg, and 34 kg, with reorder points of 2,549 kg, 298 kg, and 270 kg. It can be concluded that integrating SCM with the EOQ method can improve inventory cost efficiency while maintaining the smoothness of the company's production process.
