Abstract

Psychological well-being is an important aspect that supports nurses in providing quality nursing care. High job stress and poor sleep quality can affect nurses' psychological condition, potentially reducing their psychological well-being. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between job stress and sleep quality with psychological well-being among nurses in the inpatient ward of RSUP Dr. Sitanala. Method: This study used a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all 102 nurses in the inpatient ward of RSUP Dr. Sitanala, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a job stress questionnaire, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale, then analyzed using univariate analysis, the Chi-Square test, and logistic regression, with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results and Conclusion:There were significant relationships between job stress (p = 0.004) and sleep quality (p = 0.013) with psychological well-being among nurses in the inpatient ward of RSUP Dr. Sitanala. Logistic regression analysis showed that job stress was the most dominant variable associated with psychological well-being (OR = 0.278; p = 0.005). These findings indicate that managing job stress and improving sleep quality need to be prioritized as efforts to enhance nurses' psychological well-being.
