Abstract

The use of interactive learning media represents one effort to increase students’ interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI). However, the use of interactive digital media, particularly Educaplay, in PAI learning at SDN 17 Kubang Putiah remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of using Educaplay-based learning media on students’ interest in learning PAI. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method and a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 17 fifth-grade students selected using total sampling. Data were collected through a learning-interest questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability and subsequently analyzed using a normality test and a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the students’ mean learning-interest score increased from 57 on the pretest to 81 on the posttest. The increase occurred among all students and encompassed indicators of enjoyment, interest, attention, and engagement in learning. The paired-samples t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the use of Educaplay has the potential to support increased student interest in PAI learning. This study contributes to expanding the use of interactive digital media in PAI learning at the primary school level. In practical terms, PAI teachers may consider Educaplay an alternative learning medium for creating more engaging learning activities and encouraging student participation.
