Abstract

Pregnancy is a crucial period that requires careful planning; however, knowledge deficit regarding the Birth Planning and Complication Prevention Program (P4K) remains a major obstacle contributing to the high Maternal Mortality Rate. This knowledge deficit not only delays the early detection of complications but also triggers anxiety in third-trimester pregnant women. This scientific paper aims to provide an overview of comprehensive nursing care in addressing knowledge deficits through the innovation of educational media combining leaflets and P4K animation videos. The writing method utilizes a case study approach for nursing care of third-trimester pregnant women with problems of knowledge deficit, anxiety, and sleep pattern disturbances. The intervention was carried out over three days of home visits, including assessment phases, determination of nursing diagnoses, implementation of integrated education, and evaluation using the SOAP components. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in patient knowledge, where the average pre-test score of 40% (low category) increased to 90% (high category) in the post-test. The integration of leaflets as a retention medium and animation videos as an attention grabber (main attention grabber) is effective in improving the patient's cognition and behavior. The patient was able to complete the P4K sticker independently, understand the planned referral flow (including high-risk cases with a history of Sectio Caesarea), reduce anxiety levels, and improve sleep quality. The conclusion indicates that multisensory education based on leaflets and videos is highly effective in increasing the independence of pregnant women in planning safe deliveries. It is recommended for medical personnel to integrate this innovative educational method as a standard intervention in preventive efforts to reduce delivery complications in primary healthcare facilities.
