Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher’s strategy in instilling student character education values at EBHS Kikhanza homeschooling. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through in-depth observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the teacher’s strategy in instilling student character education values at EBHS Kikhanza homeschooling was carried out by habituation and exemplary with character education values such as respect for differences, courtesy, independence, honesty, discipline, responsibility, creativity and care for the environment. The cultivation of character education values is also supported by TPQ extracurricular activities. The contribution of this research is to provide insight for readers regarding the strategic role of teachers in shaping student character through habituation and exemplary approaches in a homeschooling environment. This research can also be a reference for educators, especially in homeschooling in designing effective strategies and this research is expected to enrich the literature on character education and become input for homeschooling managers to continue to improve the quality of character-based learning.
